Building a course
Everything a course needs, and nothing it does not.
A course is modules, lessons and questions. Grapevine gives you those four things done properly rather than forty things done approximately.
Structure
Courses, modules, lessons.
Three levels, which is as many as a course has ever needed. A module groups the lessons that belong together; a lesson holds the text, the video and the questions. Lessons that belong to no module still behave like every other lesson.
- Drag to reorder at any level
- Draft a lesson and leave it unpublished until it is ready
- Duplicate a course to make next year's version without touching this year's

The lesson player
Video on one side, the words on the other.
Learners see one lesson at a time, with the video beside the text rather than buried under it. Progress is kept as they go, so closing the tab loses nothing.
- Video from anywhere you already host it
- Text, images and downloads in the same lesson
- Picks up where they left off, on any device

Asking good questions
Open questions invite people to think out loud. In this lesson you will practice turning closed questions into open ones.
Writing it
Written where everything else is written.
Lessons are authored in the WordPress editor, so the paragraph, image and list you already know are the paragraph, image and list here. Nothing to learn that is only true inside a course.
- The same editor as the rest of the site
- Media library you already have
- Preview a lesson exactly as a learner will meet it
- VIDEO Welcome and how this works
- READ Know your learners
- QUIZ Check your understanding
Your first course could be live this week.
Launch a site, build a course, and open it when it is ready.
